Hi, I'm Meg - I just moved here about this time last month.

Some basic information:
I'm 21. I go to Temple University. I major in Psychology. I'm a Psych student with an artist's brain, which is interesting. I write music and stories, I love to read, and I really like exploring. Anytime, anywhere. Oh, and food. Jaded, "ironic" people bother me, and college culture in general makes me sick.

Pretty much, I'm looking to meet some people who are more mature than the partiers and other disaffected youth I have to wade through every day at school. If you're curious, just check out my userinfo.

I know that there hasn't been much going on in this community lately but I figured I'd still try. I'm Gem, I'm new to the Philly area. I hated where I was, so when I got the opportunity to move up here to work on a really low budget indie film, I took it. I'm trying to reside here permanently. I like it here so far, but I'm lonely. Even chatting with someone on LJ would be nice. I am an obsessive thrifter (goodwills and village thrift stores are my friend), and everything I buy gets sewn into something new and different for me to wear. I love sewing, I read and write, and I have a passion for acting. Hope things in this community pick up. I'm leaving a few links at the end of this so that you can find out more about me and what I'm doing up here. (My LJ is friends-only).

Favorite Thing about Philly: I've only been in the actual city of Philly a few times, but I'm definitely a fan of the city atmosphere. Or the water ices.

I'm going to be attending Moore College of Art and Design next semester and thought I'd see what was out there for me. I've never been to Philly before in my life, not even a college visitation. All I know is that Chinatown appears to be in walking distance from my school. Ummmm what else should I say? I'm majoring in graphic design. Yes that is definatly a big point about me. Also I study Japanese, and hope to take salsa classes in Philly.
» Concert this Friday....
Hello all!  Well, I'm heading to Kildare's in Manayunk this Friday to see my buddies, Lost in Paris.  They're a rocking cover band and I absolutely adore watching them perform.  I've invited a bunch of folks to attend and if y'all are looking to make buddies, this is a good chance.  So let me know if you're interested and I'll give you more details.

Take care!
» MEET & GREET?!
Yes, our group is small. But I'm a woman of action and I think it would definitely help us open up if we got to know one another. So here's my suggestion, why don't we do something together? Go out bowling, have some drinks, see a concert, something.

I have friends in LJ groups in other cities that have gatherings all of the time. Y'all should see the pictures. *LOL* What do you guys think of this? Any suggestions of where/when? Let me know! Let's talk about this....
» Any Yahoo password help?
So, I know this isn't the place for it, but here ya go. To make a long story short, my password has been stolen and Yahoo! says I'm giving them the wrong birthdate to verify my account. They won't help me without that info. Does ANYONE know how I can get my account back OR make them close the account? Help is greatly aprpeciated. Pass this on to anyone who can help, man.
» How to post new threads
Hey you Saral124 and Teverde, thanks for replying! Let me explain how to post to the group. First of all, make sure you'd added the community as a friend.

1. From the main page (where you can see all the posts), you'll click on "User Info" which is among the boxes to the left of the screen.

2. The next screen that pops up should have some little icons just above the user information. Click on the pencil to post a new thread.

3. At this point you can post away! Come up with a subject if you'd like or just write out whatever you want to share in the "Entry" box. Scroll down to the bottom of the page when you are done and click "Update Journal"

That's it! So Saral124 and Teverde, please introduce yourselves by posting a new thread. To everyone else who has yet to reply, I hope this post will encourage you to speak up. I have some ideas about get-togethers or whatnot that we could do, but I can't plan something with invisible people. *LOL* You'll also noted that I changed the layout...I think it makes things a bit more user friendly. I'm pretty new to the site as well, so if anyone else has tips that can help folks, feel free to pass them along. Hope y'all had great weekends!
